Seven
private chalets accommodating fourteen guests are carefully positioned
so that, from your veranda, you will have a breathtaking view of the Zambezi
and can enjoy the sun setting over the Zambian hills. Each chalet boasts
comfortable twin beds, overhead fans, and a stylish en suite bathroom
with shower, providing all the necessary comforts for your stay. A short
walk away along well-lighted brick pathways you will find the main lodge,
bar, pool area and patio with open fireplace, the perfect place to enjoy
sundowners and relive the day's events. The lodge itself and the chalets
are thatched from local grasses and shaded by stately tamarind trees.
Tafika Zambezi is truly an island of luxury in the wilderness of the Lower
Zambezi, little changed since David Livingstone passed by.
Your Activities
In addition
to some of the finest sport fishing in Zimbabwe , we also offer game viewing
cruises on the Zambezi. Tafika is situated just a few kilometres
downstream from Mana Pools, a world heritage site and National Park, offering
opportunities for spectacular birding, game viewing and photography. Zambia
's Lower Zambezi National Park is just across the river, placing Tafika squarely in one of the least populated and most game rich parts
of the Zambezi Valley.
Aquatic species like hippo and crocodile may be viewed almost constantly
while fishing or relaxing in camp. Herds of elephant and Cape buffalo, along
with waterbuck, kudu, bushbuck, and more will frequently be seen slipping
down to the shoreline to get a drink. At night Tafika is frequently
serenaded by the roaring of lions, the sawing cough of hunting leopards,
and the wonderful cacophony of hyenas, these sounds drifting both across
the water from Zambia and from the virgin thorn bush surrounding the camp. |
